Brian Knaff became the newest Ward Two council member after a public interview with Merriam City Council Monday night. He’ll finish out the final year of retired Council Member Jim Wymer's term (up for election on November 7, 2017). In total, three residents expressed interest and were interviewed for the position.

Knaff is a 20-year Merriam resident and certified public accountant employed by the IRS since 1988, who served on the Merriam Parks & Recreation Advisory Board from 2006–14. He said that issues related to parks & rec facilities are among the most pressing currently facing the city.
